Ship: Holland America Line, Maasdam
Date: 17 October 2019

Highlights
- This ship is about to set sail on a circumnavigation of Australia (30 x nights). With 1,200 passengers and at 55.5k tonnes, this is a smaller exploration style ship and is able to head to smaller ports most other popular cruise lines cannot.
- The Maasdam is a 25 year old ship, but has had 2 contemporary refurbishments in both 2006 and the spring of 2011, giving it a younger, hip style. It has kept some traditional touches that appeal to its older audience base — high tea, formal nights, ballroom dancing and displays of antiques — while adding elements to appeal to younger audiences as well.
